Did HyperStudio actually include an xTalk language? I was aware of it but I never tried it because from it's advertising it seemed like it was a HyperCard without the HyperTalk, solely for use as multimedia audthoring tool?

I guess it can't hurt to give it a try now, since I'm dusting off my G4 to look at Oracle Media Objects.

Oh they're still in existence, and they have an HTML5 engine too!

Not really HyperTalk, but "Rog" previously worked on SuperCard,
and, going on his subsequent 'puff' "Roger Wagner's HyperStudio"
left there as his EGO was getting hungry. 8-)

HyperStudio was an Apple IIGS product initially. You could run it today on a vintage IIGS or using a IIGS emulator like Sweet16.

Free versions for Windows and Mac here: visually very impressive.

Versions 5 and up are made in such a way that one CANNOT get at the underlying LOGO language.

32-bit only.
