I should have been more specific - my error.
Hypercard had / has userlevels - so that you could "set the userlevel to 0" for a completely locked down stack in the hypercard program - which then acted like a player, with no IDE distractions.
But you could have a button "edit stack", which set the userlevel to 7 - and opened up the entire IDE. Allowing for people to 'get involved'.
What I mean additionally, is if people could simply pass stacks around like they did in the hypercard days, then OXT use would become a lot more common. Knowing that a lightweight player is available so they have no issue opening stacks from anywhere.
The other thing, it would probably be heavily frowned upon or instantly shut down - due to the potential havoc you can create with a stack. Different times.
