So: I am installing OXT Lite 1.0.5 on MacOS 12 ('Monterey').

A simple drag-N-drop install into my dedicated 'xTalk' folder.

Started up without a hitch.

Fixed the tool palette configuration, so that you can reliably toggle certain sections of the tools & the number of tool columns shown.

Oh, Wow! Fantastic! 8-)

My only slight criticism is that "things" do not happen instantly, but only after hitting yje SAVE button:

Added a few extra shapes in the 'Vector Shapes' section, in the Tools.

Fixed the initial paint colours being set to a random value.
setting the initial brushColor to white is extremely confusing; black would be better.

the same goes for the "paint pot".

Ah, yes - fair point.
However, I can't set it to black, as if someone is in dark mode - they won't see the paint colour either. (Equally as confusing) - so I've set the default to a neutral grey which works for light and dark mode:

Updates are available via the 'Help' menu now. (fingers crossed emoji).

Indeed: Grey makes sense.

Note to self: write to some people in Scotland that the English (and the Scots) spelling of grey is 'grey, and not 'gray'. 8-)

At the tender age of 62 (and, actually as I age I fell increasingly tender), everytime I land in Great Britain the first thing I do is buy the Beano, Private Eye, and a packet of Wine Gums . . .

A Psychologist could make a meal out of that! 8-)

So . . . after a really amazing week in Latvia with my older son and his "intended" (and that word is so out of date it has grown hairs: they have been "co-habiting" for 3 years) . . . here I am "back at the ranch" on my 2018 Mac Mini running MacOS 14 (Snore Wars) and downloading "One-Oh-Five"; and also running downstairs for a 'slash-and-burn' with the hairdresser; after that will install and see 'what gives'. 8-)

OK, OK, OK . . .

right-click does 'it' (unless, like me, you have a left-handed mouse connected to your machine). 8-)

Might have found the answer to that here.

https://forums.developer.apple.com/forums/thread/675290

Try adding to it your system keychain in that popup window.

They go on to say:
719021022, JetForMe, /thread/675290?answerId=719021022#719021022, /profile/JetForMe wrote: I had the inspiration to try dragging the .cer file from the Finder into my login keychain, and that seemed to work, but it says the certificate is not trusted
It won't be 'trusted' because it's a developer certificate.

Second option: open "Script Editor" in your utilities folder (Applescript), or wherever Apple have hidden it now in CrapOS.
Once you've opened Applescript Script Editor, file > open and open the "Read me first app" with it.
Click the run button.
Follow the instructions, then see if OXT Lite will run, or if CrapOS is still objecting because it didn't come from the Apple walled garden.

"Roight" ;)

Now that 'thing' is just called 'Script Editor' and it is in the 'Utilities' folder.

Hmmm.
So, will it let you right-click the OXT Lite app (or click to invoke the popup contextual menu), and choose "open" now?

How about a restart
Well: I wondered about coming out as gay, or having a sex-change operation: but where the fun in doing those things any more: they are so old-hat and have been done too many times: so, Yeah, why not: I'll hit the restart button. 8-)

No: that did not work.

Perhaps you should start calling me 'Mary'. 8-)

Haha, each to their own.
So, I'm well and truly stuck on this latest Mac issue. Seems like codesigning (yet again), even though it obviously works on your other Mac above. (Is that running Sonoma too?)

I want someone else to pick up Mac development from here on.

No: my Mac at home runs MacOS 12 Monterey.

It is a 2015 27" Retina iMac shocker.

One of the things I really do NOT understand is why I can run LC 963 on very nearly everything, but . . .

Yes, me neither. I thought I understood it, but I obviously don't.
I also don't know if I have the enthusiasm to battle these codesigning issues on MacOS anymore. So, hopefully Paul or someone else can codesign it and make a dmg from it again.

From that point on, the auto update can do the rest.
