New Pointer Suggestion
Hi there
I guess this is for Tom
New Pointer Suggestion:
If in Browse mode: right mouse button would be Edit mode
If in Edit mode: right mouse button would be Browse mode
(I have not thought this thoroughly through but I think It would be handy)

Re: New Pointer Suggestion
That might throw off those drop-down menus that appear on a right mouse button press.

Re: New Pointer Suggestion
How about a middle-button/wheel click?

Re: New Pointer Suggestion
Why? Control-tab does the mode toggle already.

I like the idea of this. Perhaps as a preference option.
Hmmm, can't get that to work. Ctrl Tab does nothing it would seem.

Re: New Pointer Suggestion
I like that very much, so... if you check for updates - there will be something new available now.
It'll give you a new option here: That will take you to this build number in OXT Lite 1.05: If you turn that on, you'll be able to middle-click (mousewheel button) and toggle between browse and pointer tools.

Re: New Pointer Suggestion
You're the man!
BUT does "middle Button" mean a click or a wheel-wiggle, as I very much doubt anyone has one of these:
- -
Come to think of things, I don't think I have ever seen one 'in the flesh'.
AND . . .
- -
Whyze that dimmed?
MacOS 15 beta

Mind you: I still cannot find out the build number.

Re: New Pointer Suggestion
Oh, Krishna: clicking on the scroll wheel does nothing.

Re: New Pointer Suggestion
I don't know why you have "Settings"... but menus do their own thing on MacOS.
The build number is available in two places.
One in the 'Automatic Updates' tab in that preferences window, the other in the "Help" > "IDE Information"
You might have answered that question, running a MacOS beta.

Re: New Pointer Suggestion
I'll go and test that out in MacOS now and see what's going on (or not)
For context, I have a 'standard' usb mouse connected here. (if there is such a thing) - nothing 'exotic' though.

Re: New Pointer Suggestion
OK, OK: NOW it works, after a restart of OXT Lite, something that was NOT explicitly stated for morons like me.

AND: fantastic from my point of view: one less mouse movement across the screen(s); one less factor contributing to repetitive stress injury.

Re: New Pointer Suggestion
I've always used command + '8' or '9' for switching run/edit modes in the IDE
Command+Tab and Command+Shift+Tab have been 'Application Switcher' in macOS since at least MacOS 8 days.
