Well, it's about time we had some good news.
Tonight I've managed to get the engine to compile on windows (only about 120GB of stuff to download to do it, but ho-hum!).
This takes the engine to 9.7.0-dp1, up from 9.6.3 - the same as the Linux version for OXT Lite.
No performance lags this time.
The only change I've made to the source is removing the registration requirement screen upon first run, just like I did for Linux.
If you are feeling adventurous, you can download the binary from here and replace the exe in your openxtalk lite folder. Be aware, this is 64-bit. (I didn't see the point building a x32-bit version).

I don't just suppose that brings us any nearer to an ARM-Mac engine.

No, that's a different beast altogether. Just getting a mac intel build to compile is my next step, but one I'm dreading.richmond62 wrote: ↑Mon Nov 04, 2024 8:38 pm I don't just suppose that brings us any nearer to an ARM-Mac engine.
Once that's done and updated, I can then turn my attention to an Arm build - if the prerequisites for it are even there - which I'll find out about nearer the time.
edit: moved the next few posts to the 'compiling from source on macos'
